About the Role
The Estimation Engineer is responsible for the detailed cost analysis and pricing strategy
for high-precision machining projects. By interpreting complex technical drawings and
evaluating process requirements, this role ensures competitive and accurate RFQ submissions
for the aerospace sector.
Job Description
- RFQ Review: Review RFQs and prepare comprehensive cost estimates for machining, raw materials, and special processes.
- Drawing Interpretation: Interpret product drawings to evaluate tolerances, fit, and function.
- Machining Strategy: Determine cost-effective machining sequences and identify outsourcing needs.
- Material Optimization: Implement nesting concepts for material optimization and cost reduction.
- Pricing Strategy: Prepare detailed cost analyses and pricing strategies to secure new business.
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with special process vendors for heat treatment, anodizing, and painting.
- Accountability:
- Ensure RFQs are submitted accurately and within required timelines.
- Maintain competitive and technically accurate pricing strategies.
Technical Knowledge Required
- Expertise in CNC milling (3, 4, 5 axis), Turning, and Turnmill machining processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CATIA, Siemens NX, and SolidWorks
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel for reporting and cost estimation
- Familiarity with special processes such as CCA, Heat Treatment, Anodizing, and Painting
Experience Required
- 8–10 years of experience in the following:
- Estimation and costing for high-precision machining
- Interpretation of complex aerospace component drawings
- Material costing and machining process planning
- Working with aerospace-grade materials

- Attention to detail in technical and cost analysis
- Effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams

- Strong analytical skills for interpreting process requirements
